I'm 27 years old. Im in good shape and very active in sports. I feel my chest tighten sometimes when I stand up or bend over sometimes. It only lasts for a few seconds. I get a physical every year including a stress test and they can't find anything. I do throught PVC's sometimes too and doctors say dont worry about it. Any thoughts?
Since you're only 27 years old and active in sports with a normal stress test, the one question I would suggest is to ask your doctor about an echocardiogram or an ultrasound of the heart. You could possibly have mitral valve prolapse which is fairly benign condition but can sometimes cause palpitations, PVC's or even chest pain. Sometimes just knowing that it's not something serious actually helps since anxiety can bring on chest tightness. The other thing would be to make sure your potassium level is normal. This can be done with a simple blood test. A low potassium could cause PVC's. Be sure that you're getting enough fluids particularly when you work out. I hope this helps.
