Safe Cough Mixture?

What cough mixture is safe to take when I have an angina as I have a very bad chesty cough at the moment and the Doctor says there is nothing he can give me to help.

Chemist recommended Benyline but I have a feeling this should not be taken when patient has a heart condition.
