Congestive Heart Failure or CHF is a chronic condition that needs to be managed just like diabetes.  When you have "episodes" of severe CHF, that you can't manage at home, that is when you will need to go to the hospital for treatment.  But when you are released, you still have the diesease.

You would benefit from a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program.  Contact your hospital for the one nearest you.  this is a diet and exercise program that can help you manage CHF and in some cases help your heart get stronger.  The nurse and staff can help with medication management, and lifestyle changes that can make things easier too.

Good luck!
