My 22 year old boyfriend just found out he has heart valve disease and has to have surgery at the end of the month...

about how long is recovery for someone having heart surgery in their 20's? Also, is the surgery going to fix the disease or will he always have it? He's very scared and wants to bounce back pretty quick.
