Is this something serious when I experience the fluttering and shortness of breath

I experienced a fluttering sensation in my chest this morning, then shortness of breath and a feeling of faintness, just for a few seconds...then my chest felt like someone had thumped in the breast bone about 30 minutes later...this has happened on a few occasions.
