Is more sleep helping to lower my blood pressure?

I unfortunately don’t know the answer to that question yet! All I know is that since I caught a stomach bug I’ve been going to bed a lot earlier most nights and found myself wanting to lie in come morning.

I also haven’t been able to get around to the clinic this weekend to have my blood pressure checked - it’s been one of those back-to-back activities weekends.

I did manage to get two swims in though this long weekend - 500m on Saturday and 700m on Sunday! My two longest distances by far - I felt great! Now if I can get all those lengths running non-stop… But that will come. The blood pressure monitor at the gym gave me some ok results too: 117/70 and 130/59 respectively.

I’ll be able to squeeze in one more swim before we head off to the coast for a week - I’m so looking forward to it. The sun (hopefully) and surf should do wonders for the stress levels and help me to chill out. And I’ll get to test out my fitness level by doing a few laps in the ocean - I reckon if I can do one lap to Mauritius and back I’m doing well ;-)
