
I am sitting here trying to think of a reason you would not want your medicine to work. If you are supposed to be taking Plavix becuase you had a heart event, it would be unwise to stop it and risk another cardiac event. (that's the nurse, AND the mother in me speaking LOL)
Plavix has a "half life" of 6 hours. That means after 6 hours half of the drug is metabolized and unavailable to you body and basically ineffective. The rest of the drug is excreted over the next 5 days. There is no way to "speed up" the excretion other than filtering by dialysis machine.
