I might not have my blood pressure as under control as I would like it to be, but I must say that exercising at the gym is paying dividends with regards to losing some inches around my waist.
I have been gyming 3 times a week for the last 8 weeks and have noticed a difference when putting on my trousers now. The belt has been moved up a notch which is very encouraging, even if the reading on the scales hasn’t budged at all.
I can only assume that using weights at gym, combined with some cardio on the exercise bike, elliptical walker and rowing machine has packed on some muscle, and this is resulting in no drop in weight.
My t-shirts are feeling a bit tighter under the arms so all those bench presses, lat pulldowns and dumbell curls are paying off. I hope that in due course my blood pressure starts coming down too.
I should probably get back onto the DASH eating plan. One of the guys at gym said to me that the results at gym are based 80% on what yo put into your body, and 20% on the exercise you do. I don’t know how accurate that is, but he’s a HUGE guy with muscles on top of his muscles, so he must have a bit more of a clue than me!
Until next time, I hope that exercise can help you with your hypertension.
