Book Review – The American Medical Association's Guide to Preventing and Treating Heart Disease.
This book is a conservative and descriptive book written for patients, not for heart specialists. It is informative in that it describes in clear terms almost all aspects of heart disease, from Coronary Heart Disease all the way to Congestive Heart Failure. It defines simply the nature of the disease, the tests, and the medication or the surgical procedures.
The book also explains the relationship between heart disease and factors such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, diabetes and obesity. It is a primer, a complete, simple and thorough introduction for most people or newly diagnosed patients who had no prior knowledge of what heart disease is all about. We have included it in our selection of books and cookbooks dedicated to caring for heart disease. It is an important book for those who wish to find valuable and trustworthy information regarding their condition. “The AMA Guide to Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease” would be the book to start with.
“The American Medical Association's Guide to Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease” is published by Wiley and Sons.
