Update on Gavin's Hearing! & Work Christmas Party

This week Thursday and Friday We spend both days in Logan. Thursday was The right ear which has lost some hearing which Gavin now could receive his second implant. But his audiologist says we will do a hearing test in 6 months and make the decision then. I trust his audiologist I fully know he cares about Gavin and his best interest. In my opinion he is the best audiologist in Utah. As well as many other people think he is the best too. He would never do anything that wouldn't be the best and he always tries everything before he can before just saying implant. But He did tell me that a child who hears worst than 70 DB on the 3 main speech frequencies which are 250,500,1000. No hearing aid will be able to help the child like the implant can. I've meet a teenager where She just has hearing aids which she could get the bilateral implants(she hears worst than 70DB in both ears across the audio gram) but has chosen not to cause she is nervous about the surgery. Now she speaks and hears but the way she talks I can understand her 90% our conversion 10% she doesn't pronounce the words real clear but I really have to listen to her speak cause her speech isn't real clear like the other teenagers that have implants. But She does have a really hard time overhearing conversation I ask her. She says people half to be right in front of me or within arms reach. She wants to get the implant cause she knows she could be able to overhear conversations and other benefits that come with implants.

Gavin is doing Awesome with his implant. I said his name once he was like 75 ft away from me
he turn to look. He heard me! On Friday after the appt. We when with our audiologist to a Christmas Program that other kids with implants were in. Another little boy with implants shares Gavin's name. Santa came and gave Gavin a book. Then We ate refreshments and drove home 2 hr car drive. Also on Thursday night we stop by and visited Aly in Logan. Which is Gavin's cousin. We had a Popsicle,rug ride,got to play and talk. It was fun to them cause we don't see each other a whole lot. But it is definitely fun to get together. Aly is 3 and Gavin will soon be 2. Sharing is a issue with Gavin and Aly but they are 2 and 3 years old. So it's Normal. the timer works great. When it beeps the other child's turn. Gavin was running around the corner and Aly was running around the same corner opposite sides and they smack heads and both had little red goose eggs on their heads. It is was loud the sound so you know it hurt. They both got knocked down!

Then Later on that evening Dustin and I. Daniel and his date went to Dustin's Christmas work Party. The Menu was amazing as always. It had five courses which each course had 6 different
choices which we had to say what we had to say what we wanted about a week ago. Dustin got the BBQ duck leg, a spinach salad, chef's soup, sable fish, Tahitian Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee. Then I got the grilled Portobello mushroom, Maytag salad, chef's soup, Bison Tenderloins, Pumpkin Cheesecake for dessert. Semolina Fried Calamari and some yummy rolls for a appetizer earlier that evening were served.
We danced on the dance floor with a live band.
