Spring Break

Posted Apr 08 2010 11:42am
Weather in the midwest is very moody.

We took the kids to the zoo last Friday and wore shorts and t shirts. (We learned a lot of new animal words!) It was in the 70's all day. It felt like heaven. Follow that up with two straight days of cold, pouring rain and thunderstorms. Then this morning there was snow on the ground and there are still flakes falling outside even as I type this. Ugh.

So, bad weather and the illnesses that ran through our house have left us very cooped up since the kids don't have school this week. We have managed to have some fun, however.

I took my budding dancer to see real ballerinas at the local mall...

and even made hard boiled Passover eggs for Elijah!

and even though Peas isn't in these pictures it has been a Spring Break full of new vocabulary for him. It is so satisfying to inundate him with new words and to have him actually repeat them back and remember them. It took a long time to get to this point.
