My Wife - A VERY Special Person

Posted May 20 2009 1:20pm 2 Comments
EE Cummings- 'I carry your heart with me' ('I carry it in my heart')

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

My wife Carmen is a very special person, so happening upon this prose poem, engenders the very best of the best, the essence of her unfailing love, forever understanding and emulates kindness from this very special person who has been with me in the depth , the darkness , distance of this experience and the silence. Whotranslates the quickened questions at the check out, who repeats the childrens' seemingly trivial concerns, who relays the telephone calls and who drives the distances I can't.

No matter what the accusers or insurance litigants, or those who are unknowingly ignorant of my deafness and its isolation , torments, or to the kind but unknowing, observers who culminate their own misguided opinion, I pity them.

I love my wife -I have you in my Heart

Happy hearts to everyone!

Hi, My warmest wishes for you. We have had 21 years of marriage..”In sickness and in Health”  The only real thing that had held us “in sickness” has been our simple Christian faith  during that time.  It’s hard to believe it the darkness of the experience that it can or will ever be any different. Over these years this faith has held us up when we have had nothing else to.Its 2 ½ years since a very simple knee operation led to septicaemia, endocarditus (heart infection), ototoxic aminoglycoside antibiotics, total deafness and finally cochlear implants.  I have only recently started hiking again which is what we hoped to do about 4 years ago before our hopes were crumpled.  I’m well on the road to fitness walking 2-3hrs every day.  We will hike again but I will “hear” things differently and will need to be told and shown lots of sounds etc.  I will need a hiking pole as I my balance nerves are damaged. But we will do it!  So you see the battle is still there only different.Check out this link http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/tracks-and-walks/southland/te-anau-area/routeburn-track/  This is the great New Zealand walk we hope to do this Christmas (summer) holiday.Kind regardsColin
