My Girl

Riley update:

She lost another tooth. She was so tickled (this tooth had been hanging on for a long time) that she was oblivious to the blood that covered her teeth. She was running around showing my folks, me and Ryan and looking at it in the bathroom mirror. My mom and I finally convinced her to swish cold water around her mouth and bite on a cold washcloth to stop the bleeding. The tooth fairy left $3. Inflation.

The A's continue, even on spelling tests and dictated sentence tests. However, she did "forget" to bring home her Circle 7 reading two weeks ago and ended up with a 75. She is supposed to read it aloud five times at home; five points are deducted for each missed reading. The 75 means 25 points were deducted for the five missed readings, which also means she was able to read it correctly in less than a minute without even practicing at home, so that is the silver lining.

Santa Claus is already at the mall. We saw him yesterday, but I told her we had to wait until Ryan was with us before she could get her picture made with him. She's already planned her outfit. ;-)

We went roller-skating last week; it was a blast. Know what song the DJ played while we were lacing up our skates? "Summertime" remix by New Kids on the Block. Sweet! Ryan and I managed to stay on our feet; Riley fell a few times, but she always got back up. She also won the limbo contest, against some older, much better skaters. Woohoo for a free sno-cone. She won't eat them so we gave the prize ticket away.

She came and jumped in bed with us this morning, saying, "I want breakfast." She wanted to go to Shoney's, so we did. She ate chicken tenders, fried bologna, french toast sticks, bacon, a salad and powdered donuts with whipped cream. And chocolate milk.
