At left, Riley waking up before school one morning. Other than not having to work at my regular job, I'm really enjoying homework time with Riley. I have to time to really teach her some things instead of being in a hurry to get back to work after an hour. We've been working hard on spelling words, making sentences with the words, learning new vocabulary, reading stories, learning about plants and maps and communities and laws and voting. She's doing really well, and I'd like to think it's because I'm able to spend more time with her doing schoolwork.
It's amazing how much more cooperative Riley is when I have time to focus on her and what she needs to be successful. She needs the attention, and it makes me sad that I won't be able to give her as much when I return to work in three weeks.
I'll just enjoy the next three weeks and make them really count!
