Washington — Supporters of the Hearing Aid Tax Credit visited Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D - Md) at his Capitol Building office to thank him for his attention to hearing health issues including his original co-sponsorship of the legislation.
The Hearing Industries Association (HIA) sponsored a Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA)/AG Bell supper for the congressman and his Maryland constituents with hearing loss last October. That event was attended by more than 130 HLAA and AG Bell members.
The group presented a plaque commemorating the event to Rep. Van Hollen, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
During the meeting, the congressman renewed his commitment to the Hearing Aid Tax Credit and thanked those in attendance for supporting his efforts to move the legislation.
The Hearing Aid Tax Credit (HR2329 / S1410) would help Americans who need hearing instruments, but simply cannot afford them. If enacted, it would provide a $500 tax credit per hearing aid available once every 5 years for dependents and for those aged 55 and older. The benefits of reducing special education costs for children through increased hearing aid usage are immense, as are the benefits of minimizing psychological and mental disorders associated with untreated hearing loss in older adults.
WE ALL NEED THIS HEARING AID TAX CREDIT* BECAUSE MOST OF US CANNOT AFFORD HEARING AIDS BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. PLEASE HELP BY WRITING TO YOUR CONGRESSMEN STATING THAT HEARING AID TAX CREDIT COULD REALLY HELP YOU. ITS ONE CLICK AWAY, CLICK HERE
THANKS FOR THE HELP!
