Cochlear™ Volunteer Advocates – a network of support

Most of our Nucleus™ cochlear implant recipients and Baha® System users start their journey by reaching out to someone who has had a similar experience with hearing loss. It’s often a great benefit to learn from someone who understands and has been through this same experience and our Volunteer Advocates are here to help.
Cochlear™ Volunteer Advocates offer support and impartial information to individuals, parents and their families from the process of assessment and implantation, all the way through to rehabilitation and beyond.
Answering questions, dispelling myths and allaying fears, helping individuals to have a better understanding of the implant process and complementing the role of professionals.
All our advocates are fully trained, of all ages and from a range of backgrounds that reflect the community they work within.
Connect and Communicate
If you are considering an implant and seeking advice or would like to learn practical day to day tips, our Advocacy Manager, Kate King can connect you with an advocate who has first hand experience of living with a Nucleus® cochlear implant or Baha® System.
