Allergies???

Posted Jan 14 2009 8:45pm
Poor Thomas. We went back to the pediatrician on Saturday, I thought he was still sick because he has had watery eyes, runny nose, lots of sneezing and very sleepy! Pedi told me that he could not tell the difference between the ears...they both are healthy! He also told me that Thomas is probably recovering from a cold....I am starting to think he may have inherited the "walsh curse" of terrible allergies. My Dad and his brothers and sister all suffer from allergies as well as myself and my younger brother. I am going to give it a few more days and if it continues I am going to call the pedi again to see if there may be something else besides a cold going on.
He has been miserable with the runny nose and watery eyes. He has been sleepy and very cranky. Totally not acting like "healthy" Thomas.
On another note, I am thinking he is going to start walking soon. He is starting to not "hang on" to things like he had been doing. He will leave a finger or two on something (the couch, me, his toys) and look at me with a look of "should i do it?" than he thinks twice and plops down and starts crawling. He will walk while holding my finger but he hasnt made any steps on his own yet.
He plays this new game with a hat. He will pick up a hat and says "hhhhhh" and hands it to me (or Jonathan/Jim/Grandma, etc) and than he says "aahhhhh" (like On) we have to put it on our heads than he will take it off and put it on his head while saying "ahhhh". I am so ready for him to get his CI and start really hearing what we are saying. I am not "that" ready for the surgery but from what I have been told it is worse for the parents than the child anway! I am putting my complete trust in Dr. Megerian and I know he will treat Thomas like he was his own child.
On yet another note, Jonathan will be graduating to his orange belt in karate tomorrow. I am very excited for him and I hope that he wants to continue karate outside of school (at the instructors studio).
Easter is right around the corner and Thomas and I will celebrating without Jonathan and Jim this year. They are going down with Jims Dad to South Carolina to visit with Aunt Shelley! Jonathan is very excited and cant wait to spend alone time with both his Dad and Aunt Shelley! I know Aunt Shelley will make it a great trip for Jonathan. I am going to miss him like crazy but the one on one attention from everyone will be good for Jonathan, especially with Thomas' birthday and surgery coming up.
