Hello! It’s been a pretty fantastic last couple weeks. Last Saturday I finished level 1 of yoga teacher training. The 200hr program I’m doing is an intensive, so we were in the studio 8am-6pm from Saturday to Saturday. I suppose I’ll never underestimate how much you can learn in that short of a period of time! It’hard to put into words how incredible the week was. There are 11 people in the program and each of them is amazing. I feel so blessed to be going through training with this group..

One of the things I absolutely love about this program in particular is that it takes a very integrated approach. Although it is technically a program focused on the vinyasa style, our teachers come from backgrounds in Ashtanga, Anusara, Baptiste, etc. I love hearing the variety of perspectives, because there is so much wisdom and experience, but yet no one “right” way.
It’s so interesting moving from the perspective of a student to that of a teacher AND student. While in workshops for standing sequencing, sun salutations, backbends and inversions, I kept catching myself thinking about how to apply it to me.. then realizing that while that is important so that I can better describe it, that it’s really about how to pass on the information and not just absorb it. And little by little even my sanskrit is getting better
We have one more 8-day intensive in July, and in the meantime I’m teaching, observing and taking as many classes as possible. And on that note, if you live in the Austin-area and want to join us for Yoga in the Park, shoot me a message !
Representing #sweatpink and Fit Approach at a hot vinyasa class at one of my favorite studios ! This shirt is awesome! Not only super comfortable, but I was drenched by the end of class and it kept up!
