Workplace Health and Wellness: H1N1

Posted Oct 28 2009 11:01pm

I've been monitoring the traffic to my posts and am happy to report that there are more searches for information related to "business" and "workplace".   Please visit my  last post on business and workplace responsibilities.

I've posted on my concerns about obesity a few times ( one example ) and now it seems it is a high risk condition for the H1N1 flu.  This could be due to the existence of other chronic conditions like diabetes, or perhaps compromised lung function is increasing the risk of respiratory distress.

Even though the strain isn't so severe, be prepared for the impact on your business and encourage your employees to stay home and rest if sick.  They should call their doctor and/or go to the hospital if they are vomiting or have difficulty breathing.

Just having the flu isn't a reason to go to the emergency room!

Be aware and prepare at home and work!
