And who has time to waste in the gym and work toward NO change in the body’s physique? No, I have a better question.
Why even workout if you’re going to eat trash all the time? Eating bad cancels out what you do in the gym. If you’re going to do that then there is no point in killing yourself in the gym. I’m not saying to eat like a bodybuilder because I don’t, but I try to eat right all the time (yes, it’s a 2nd job, but they pay is too good to quit) so I can look right in a bikini this summer on the Jersey Shore.
Grace still eats good today too! Let’s lean out people! Gotta fight for it!
When you eat mostly garbage (processed foods with corn syrup, fructose ish, enriched flour, other added sugars, etc.) you’re going to stay fat and unhealthy period be it if you’re trying to lose weight, body fat, get that last layer of body fat off or just trying to get healthy and that’s the real deal. “Oh bK it’s OK if you eat that stuff in moderation.” Oh yeah?? I think not! Think about your current diet and take a look at your stats from the time you started your journey and compare to see what progress you’ve made. If you have made great progress then keep doing what you’re doing, but if you’re still at the same point as where you started or your progress is moving like a land turtle then please re-evaluate your diet and stop lying to yourself. Take a look in the mirror. Who do you know who eats garbage in moderation? MOST people don’t and end up over eating. I will say that SOME people do eat in moderation just to be fair because I am now in that SOME section of the United States population. Moderation, to me and should be the official rule, is consuming one cheat snack or meal per week.
When it comes to weight loss and fat loss your DIET is the boss! Working out is just a bonus ladies and gentleman. What a good diet can’t do for the body is tone it up, build muscle (it assists in helping to build muscle, but doesn’t build them by itself) and shape the body – that’s where exercise comes in. Exercise will not create the body of your dreams alone. It’s all about what you put into your mouth people. “They” ain’t lying when they say, “YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.” If a person doesn’t have an ailment that causes them to gain weight and that person appears to be overweight then it’s what he or she is eating and is what is making them look that way. If you are thin and have a pudgy or a tire around your waist you can simply clean up your diet to combat that issue.
KEEPING A GOOD DIET IS THE SECRET! Every time you give into a doughnut or a “little piece” of garbage you’re taking a total of one step back away from your goal. The more garbage you eat the more you walk away from becoming the person you want to become.
Eating healthy is not easy, but it can be done. It takes dedication, consistency, your full attention, drive and focus. You will mess up here and there, but try not to make the same mistake twice. What you don’t want to do is give up after a fall either. My advice is to schedule your cheat snacks (not cheat meals or cheat days – those can lead to a total annihilation of your current diet)…earn your cheat snack. If you had a good week of dieting and fitness then it’s OK to have a cheat treat once in a while as a reward.
Clean up you’re diet right now – learn how to get started! It’s January which means it’s the start of a new year and by June you will see major changes if you do decide to clean up your diet and exercise on a consistent basis for sure. Why not challenge yourself to see if it’s true? Get on this journey with me…let’s make it happen!!!
Story Time! Too tell you the truth, I have been tracking what I eat for over 180 weeks now and I’m at a point where that if I indulge just a little bit in cheat eating I’ll get sick. Sometimes when I’m thinking about my diet I say to myself, “How was I able to eat all of that ish like that?” I mean I used to go to IHOP and eat a cheese omelet, a side of bacon, a short stack of pancakes swimming in maple syrup while downing cups and cups of Pepsi. I get a headache just thinking about it. I remember my better half dragged me into an IHOP recently and I just stared that menu down like if I eat this I’ll get sick or I’ll feel bad or I’ll fall asleep in the movie theater from a simple carb overload (yep, I’ve done this a lot). I immediately went for the salad. I could have gone for the eggs, but I don’t know if their mixing in pancake batter with it to make it look like more (I heard they do this allegedly) or what they are frying it in – I’m sure it’s not olive, coconut or canola oil. And then there are your friends and family that drag you out to garbage food places, but you can’t blame them for what you put into your mouth…try to make the best food decisions no matter what lion’s den you end up in. It’s your mind, body and soul and you control all of that. The End!
Anyway, you get the picture hopefully! Today is Saturday and I plan on eating clean all day. I don’t feel I need a snack today, maybe next week after a another diet and fitness successful week. Who knows. Here is another dose of motivation for you today. Fight!
