WIAW and Morning Workouts for Better Sleep

I was convinced today was Thursday. All morning I was so glad that tomorrow was finally the last day of the week! Travis thought the same so we were both really disappointed when we realized it was only Wednesday.

Breakfast was made with leftover veggies from our burgers  and pepperjack cheese, my fav. Omelets are one of my favorite breakfast dishes but I can’t make them to save my life.

Omelet and Sourdogh toast...Mmmm

Luckily Travis does so when he offered to half his I offered to toast and butter some sourdough bread. I was spoiled and now want this every morning.

My lunch plans were cancelled so I took a trip to Whole Foods. I don’t know why I think I can just make a quick trip, it never works. I always spend way more money than I ever plan.

Whole Foods is like the Target of grocery stores, you go in with a list and spend an easy $75. Luckily my lunch wasn’t too high, but I did manage to grab some veggies and a few packs of 365 brand emergen-c. Thirty bucks isn’t so bad for a lunch trip right?

 I was super busy at work and didn’t have time for a snack so when I got home I had a quick snack of tortilla chips and chocolate soy milk.

Random snack combo

It’s a random combo I know but it was all I could think of beofre taking Harper on her walk then heading to BodyPump.

In case you are wondering, yes that is a Shrek glass. I have the whole set from the third movie. I love Skrek! I would have the set from Shrek 4 but there was lead in the paint so the recall messed that up, Dammnit!

 After BodyPump I wasn’t feeling like eating a huge dinner. My allergies were starting to kick in so all I wanted was emergen-C and something small. Travis was at his football game so I couldn’t pull the “I don’t feel good, will you make me dinner” card.

I had to fend for myself. So I settled on an old college favorite, cereal. I mixed Honey-O’s and 365 brand raisin bran. I love having a cereal mixture. It makes me feel like it’s more of a meal. It’s really not, but that’s ok.

Morning Workouts for Better Sleep

Yesterday I picked up the latest SHAPE  magazine and saw something very interesting. There was a study that found when people workout first thing in the morning they fall asleep faster and have less disrupted sleep than afternoon or evening exercisers. What really caught my eye was that the reserach for this was done where I went to college, Appalachian State University. GO APP!
 
The piece said how working out later gives the chemicals in your body more time to take effect and makes getting a good sleep harder. I don’t keep a record of my sleep patterns or anything but I do notice I sleep better on days that I work out in general.
 
My allergies are slowly starting to creep into my life making my morning workouts harder and harder to get up for. But now that I know I can get better sleep throughout the night maybe I will be more motivated to get up instead of wait until after work;)
