Why does making a wish after seeing a shooting star actually work?

I love these random rituals that we do to make wishes. I love how seeing a shooting star gives us permission to make a wish. Or blowing out birthday candles can grant you a wish. And with this permission, we muster up all the energy to this wish and hope that it will come true. In my experience, I have wished for a lot of things using these rituals, and have gotten them. And I realized why they actually work!
Using these rituals to allow yourself to make a wish puts your attention on what you want. It’s part of the law of attraction. Every time you put your energy and thought on what you want, you immediately move closer to it. So using the excuse of wishing because you saw the first star at night actually works because you get to think about what you really want and hope that it will come true. Because of this realization, I have made up some really interesting rituals that give me permission to wish. When I wake up in the morning, I make a wish. When I go to bed at night, I make a wish. When I make someone smile, I make a wish! Basically, I get to wish all the time! And I usually get it.
With all the chaos that goes on day to day, it is crucial for us to keep our minds focused on what we want. We hear so much bad news that we get sucked in by the negativity and associate with it. We are so busy with making a living, working, taking care of the family, trying to make ends meet, pay the bills, etc. that we don’t have the time to actually think about what we want. There is never any time for us. By giving ourselves permission to focus on what we want, we position ourselves to become more fulfilled. Once we are fulfilled, we are in a better position to help others.
So what are some rituals that you can make to make a wish?
