We all made it through another week! Congrats blog friends
After yesterday’s frustrating car issues, I relaxed while watching a couple Oprah episodes… the Justin Beiber one (seriously… he is such a cute kid… I either have a little crush, or just want to pinch his cheeks and give him a piece of candy!) and the one with the Twilight cast. Ok, someone help me out. I don’t get all the craziness about Twilight… do I need to read the books? Are you a twi-hard? I feel so left out.

Anyways, this morning I woke up feeling rested and ready for the weekend. I had a pretty usual breakfast… 2 scrambled egg whites with veggies and Jacks , 1/2 an AST with PB&Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and a sliced pear. Actually, I struggled with cracking eggs this morning, so I guess I have about 1/2 yolk thrown in there too.
Also, for some reason coffee did not sound good this morning at. all. So I had water with lemon instead.
On a side note, one ‘weight loss trick’ I had always known, but thought I made up in my head has been popping up everywhere lately. Since I keep seeing it from different sources, I feel pretty secure that I didn’t make it up in my head. But it does have to do with one of my favorite ingredients… crushed red pepper flakes! Here’s the latest place I’ve seen this info: check it out ! Then sprinkle some on your spaghetti, pizza (healthy, homemade pizza, obviously
) and whatever else you please… YUM
Now I’m off to do some work, then go for a longggg walk with this bored little pup…

I’ve officially declared it clean out the fridge Friday, so I can restock tomorrow morning here . I had my Chobani <3 for a snack.
The weather is cloudy and somewhat cool, so I decided to attempt another walk/jog since my legs were feeling pretty good. I headed out the door, broke into a jog, and ended up jogging about 3/4 of a mile before having to walk!! (OK, all you runners, please stop laughing now). I was ecstatic! I ended up jogging about another 1/2 mile total throughout the rest of my 4 mile walk/jog. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in pretty good shape… I like pilates, biking and hiking. I swim around and go on long walks, but I am not a runner, so being able to keep a jogging pace for 3/4 of a mile just made my day
I’m still waiting on running tips from all you runners… don’t be shy, I need them!
I continued cleaning out the fridge for lunch:
1/2 c leftover quinoa, 1/2 c broccoli, about a 1/4 c red peppers…
about 16 almonds…
a bunch of raw veggies and what was left of the hummus (which wasn’t much… bummer).
I can’t wait until my tomatoes and bell peppers start growing in my backyard… I can see them beginning to bloom, and no squirrel, bug or bird better touch them if they know what’s good for ‘em!
See ya after dinner! PS- any gardeners out there? I’m open to ideas to keep bugs away in an organic way!
**********************************************************************************************************
I usually eat every 3-4 hours, but today I’ve been extra hungry (perhaps my walk/job has me burning through calories? …no?) Anyways, I’ve already had my afternoon snack… I’m getting down to slim pickins… and I feel like the hungry caterpillar (I know you know that book…)
I cleared out the Nut Crisps Bag… there were only about 8 left, so it didn’t stop my munchies.
one granny smith later… still hungry…
Tried 1/2 a sandwich thin with a slice of reduced fat provolone. Finally, full. At least until dinner in 2.5 hours- ha! Hubbs and I are going to have an early bird special tonight, because afterwards we’re going to a COOKIE party (we’re visiting his aunt, who is really throwing a cookie party). I’v never been to one, but it sure does sound like delicious fun.
I know, we’re wild.
*******************************************************************************************************
So, we had a slight change of plans. Hubbs went for a run, which put us a little late going to the cookie party, so we decided to go straight to the party and do dinner afterwards. Luckily, I had a snack with me so I munched on it on the way to the party to take the edge off.
The party turned out to be more of an open house, so since it wasn’t a cookie focus, I was able to avoid the cookies (I’m not too big on sweets anyways) and sipped on some tea instead. It wasn’t very sweet, which I enjoyed
After about an hour, I was hungry. We left the party and tried to decide on a restaurant. Mooresville has a few fancy restaurants, and some casual places, but nothing in the middle. We missed our old neighborhood’s nice pizza place that served excellent martinis. Instead, we decided to go with a safe bet and eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Sauzas. They know us there. Scary, huh?
I probably had a little less than half the basket of chips (seriously, Mexican food is my favorite!) and washed it down with a brewski.
We always order our usual, and split chicken fajitas for one. I don’t know how only one person could eat the whole thing! It works perfectly for us- filling us up, but not leaving stuffed (which is easy to do with delicious Mexican cuisine). Plus, it’s cheap
I ate this fajita, and was happily full. It hit the spot!
All in all, a wonderful Friday! Everyone enjoy your weekend
