I made some AWESOME whole wheat pizza dough for dinner last night! Instead of my usual pizza doughI tried a new 100% whole wheat pizza recipe. For a dough that is 100% whole wheatit is actually pretty light and crispy. I was expected it to be sort of dense and chewybut I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it was because I let it rise for a few hours while I was at work? I prepped the dough after I lunch so it would be ready when I got home. It was perfect
In a small bowldissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamyabout 10 minutes.
In a large bowl combine flourwheat germ and salt. Make a well in the middle and add honey and yeast mixture. Stir well to combine. Cover and set in a warm place to rise for a few minutes.
Roll dough on a floured pizza pan and poke a few holes in it with a fork.
Bake in preheated oven for 5 to 10 minutesor until desired crispiness is achieved.
