What works for me: Eating/Exercise

Posted Oct 28 2011 2:09pm

I want to share my current eating habits.  I have met and worked with many doctors and people in the holistic health field and I’ve realized that they all have different opinions.  Who is right?!

One doctor tells me to not eat meat, the next- I shouldn’t eat too much fruit because of my blood type, the next- that it’s extremely important to eat red meat, the next- I should not be combining certain foods, the next tells me I’m too limber for yoga,  the next- I’m really healthy thanks to yoga— it goes on and on and on.  You get the point.

I realized I’m the only person that knows myself and what works best for my body.  I love learning and value everyone’s advice/opinions so I decided to try everything out…

I’ve eaten meat

I’ve not eaten meat

I’ve eaten a ‘Raw’ diet

I’ve tried no Gluten

I’ve tried no Dairy

I’ve even tried eating for my blood type

And I’ve tried giving up coffee

After all of this I’ve found what works for me and I’m finally in a great place with my eating and digestion.  Everything is running smoothly : )

What works for me:

1) Including daily lemon/cayenne waters in my diet

2) Limited Dairy (I could never fully give up cheese ) but I don’t have it too often.

3) Limited Meat- I would say I’m 90% Vegetarian (Well Piscatarian)  I have found that my body feels best when I don’t eat meat.

4) Veggies, veggies and more veggies!  I can’t ever get enough

5) Eating REAL fresh food

6) Juicing and Smoothies! (I don’t know what I did with my life before them!)

7) Take supplements (I take Probiotics, B-Vitamins, CoQ10, and Digestive Enzymes)

8 ) Exercise 4 days a week (usually Yoga, stationary bike, or rebounder)

We are all different and unique.  What works for you doesn’t necessarily work for me.  My best advice is to be your own boss- try everything- and see what makes you feel best!

I’m so grateful for all the amazing people in my life who have helped me on my ‘Journey to Health’ the past few years.  I’ve come a long way since

How I got Healthy  Part 1

How I got Healthy  Part 2

And I couldn’t have done it without your support and love.
