I want to eat right, but I don't always. Does that sound at all like you?

There are about a dozen books on my shelf that talk about the nutritional value of foods, and which ones are best and which ones to avoid. Some of them agree with each other, and a few don't. Some say eat when you are hungry and don't when you're not. Some say eat small meals on a regular basis to keep from getting hungry. Some say eat fat, some say remove the fat. Some allow brown rice, whole wheat bread and whole grain pasta, some say NO grains at all. I'm often confused about the specifics, but that's not the reason I haven't lost much weight when I try. Mostly I'm guilty of failing to plan ahead.

So I went shopping with a list. This time I decided to try some food choices that go against the usual lists consisting of rabbit faire, flavorless chicken, and fat free twigs. This time I'm eating whole foods with whole flavors and, guess what? FATS! But the healthy kinds. Fat BURNING fats! Yeah, they actually exist. Omegas and medium chains from coconut and flax, butter, cheese, and meat from happy cows, if I weren't so allergic I'd also eat eggs from happy chickens .

And I'm not starving and binging during the day (or at night when nobody's watching). So I guess you could say that I'm a weird, new kind of health nut, which is actually the OLD kind of health nut... enjoying the traditional foods that our farming forefathers ate... that dieticians tell us will kill us, even though those farmers actually had fewer slow-killing diseases (they probably just wore out from all that hard work ;-) .
I'm eating from a list of foods which are part of the Extreme Regime by Dr. Heidi. There's actually a new program starting in September, you can check it out here.

What kind of health nut are you? Wanna find out?
Here's a fun lil video clip from Whole Food Nation (turn off your mute button and enjoy :-) .
Health Nut Wannabe is working on helping others get off the fast food nation treadmill and become part of the Whole Food Nation.
I try to find easy ways to eat the right things. www.HealthNutWannabe.com
