As 2013 draws to a close in just a few hours, I find myself excited about the prospect of a new year and a fresh start. However, 2013 was a great year. I mean, I got married–not much is going to top that! Yup, 2013 was pretty good. Here are some of the things I couldn’t get enough of in 2013….
Chopt I spent way too much money at Chopt in 2013. Half the time, I am disappointed with the service, but there salads are HUGE, so I find myself there time and time again. The Sante Fe and Kebab Cobb were my go tos for a while, but recently a combo of chickpeas, kombucha squash, goat cheese, carrots, cucumber and broccoli has been my jam. In addition to Chopt, I also frequented Just Salad and Fresh and Co. Now that NYC has its own Sweet Green , I’ll probably be adding that to rotation as well.
Barry’s Bootcamp I fell hard for this insane workout. There are few places were you get a full cardio and strength workout in a mere hour. However, the real reason I love this place is because the instructors push you to the limits of your ability, guaranteeing an hour well spent. I don’t love their prices, but we took advantage of their holiday deal and I am stocked up on classes for 2014.
Tone It Up I discovered Tone It Up in 2013. At first I thought the videos were a little silly, but I soon found them to be the perfect way to sneak in a workout on the busy days. I am super excited to watch the premiere of the s how on Bravo . I love everything on Bravo, so this should be no exception. I’ve even invited a friend over for a mini viewing party.
Say Yes to the Dress and I Found the GownI was obsessed with bridal anything and everything this year. While it took me a while to warm up to SYTTD, I was immediately sold on I Found the Gown. My bridal salon was featured on it twice, actually. I did eventually get hooked on Say Yes to the Dress and watched it with avengence. I even found myself hoping for an excuse to stay in on Friday to watch the new episodes, Friday is Brideday after all.
PinterestAgain, this was definitely a wedding related obsession. I created so many wedding boards and they really helped me define my vision. I even had secret boards for things like bridesmaid gifts. I hoping to use it for health and fitness related pursuits in 2014.
Wedding Photography BlogsI was obsessed. Especially with blogs in the Saratoga Springs area. JP Elario’s blog in particular helped me find innumerable vendor ideas. He wasn’t our photographer , but I did get to meet him at our tasting and got my official blog stalker pin. I found wedding photography blogs really helpful for finding vendors and getting ideas for shots I wanted. Our wedding photos just came in, so I’ll be posting more soon.
The Skimm This is the most amazing way to stay up on current events and international news. The daily weekday newsletter breaks down the tops stories in an easily accessible, cheeky way. After reading the Skimm, I can easily read any other story related to the topic and have enough background to completely understand it. I look forward to this in my inbox every morning!
FourSquareI discovered FourSquare in 2013 and absolutely loved it for the first few months. I still enjoy checking in and reading tips, but it seems like fewer and fewer places are offering specials these days.
