Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! (Is it Wednesday already? This week is going by fast!)
It’s a rainy day over here in Phoenix! I feel like the weather keeps flip flopping on us. Just when I think it’s getting warmer we have another storm roll in. I love springtime weather in AZ but I’m not a big fan of the 100*-plus summer temps so I guess I won’t complain if ‘winter’ hangs on a little bit longer.
Well, I don’t have too much on my mind today and I know a few other bloggers who write ‘What I’m Loving Wednesday’ posts so I thought I’d hop on board and share a few things I’m loving lately. Sounds good? Ok.
Teas from The Republic of Tea
I’m just a big fan of tea in general ~ there’s not a much better way to unwind at the end of a long day than sipping on a warm cup of tea. (I also love to make myself a cup when I return from my lunch break at work to help fight off the afternoon slump). I adore the wide variety of flavors this brand offers ~ every time I walk into Whole Foods I have to stop myself from purchasing them all! The strawberry chocolate is my new flavor of the month and I can’t wait to try it!
The smoothie and waffle combo
My breakfast has been some version of the above pretty much every day this week. I love the pairing of a warm, crisp waffle with an ice cold smoothie ~ I even dip pieces of my waffle into my smoothie bowl as I eat (weird?). I just love the texture combination. Add a sprinkle of crunchy granola into the mix? Forget about it.
Homemade Spring Rolls
Quite awhile back I bought some rice paper to make spring rolls with and it sat in the pantry for the past few months. Truthfully, I was a little intimidated to try and make my own but turns out it’s really easy! All you do is soak the rice paper sheets in water for about 5 seconds until they become moldable, fill with any ingredients your heart desires and voila! I’m currently making tempeh rolls with broccoli, carrot and cabbage slaw, red pepper, mango and cilantro. I can’t wait to try out other flavors/combos.
Starbucks Chocolate Cinnamon Bread
Ok, so I haven’t actually tried this one yet. I’m just loving it from afar. This bread has caught my eye the past few times I’ve been into Starbucks however. I’ve held off trying it so far since I’m sure the nutrition profile isn’t stellar but I’m thinking of convincing the firefighter to split a piece with me this weekend. Have any of you tried it? What did you think?
Well, that’s about it for now. Hope you’re having a great week so far!
