I am a freshman aswell at Ohva and I am going to give you 7 good management methods for the common cold instead of 4, you can just choose the 4 you would like for your work. :)

1. Drink plenty of liquids, such as water or juice, Decrease your intake of caffeinated beverages.

2. Eating soups and drinking hot liquids often eases nasal congestion by loosening secretions. Also i always drink 7up.

3. Get plenty of rest!

4. A humidifier in your room may be helpful. Taking a long, hot shower may help relieve congestion and cough.

5. This is one of the number one things!... WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY! DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYES, NOSE OR
MOUTH UNLESS YOU HAVE JUST WASHED YOUR HANDS.

6. Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing. Avoid shaking hands with those who are coughing and sneezing.

7. Do not share drinking glasses.

Preventive: strengthen your immune system–don't stay just indoors. Go out for a walk or a bike ride (my system), bundle up if it's cold or windy, but go. Gurgle salt water and put drops in the nose. That is very good for cleaning and desinfecting the nose-throat areas. These steps will help you not get a cold in the first place. Works for me!
