A year ago today, I resigned from my job as a clinical dietitian to focus on my health. 10 months prior, I had been diagnosed with Lupus . I had always been a hard worker, but for the first time in my life I faced physical limitations I could not overcome with medicine, the Standard American Diet (SAD), or working in a hectic environment. With dedication and support from my husband and family, I was extremely fortunate to be able to take a year away from work in an attempt to feel well again. I became a stay-at-home mom without the kids. Despite spending many days on the couch enduring uncomfortable symptoms and withdrawal from years of toxic drugs coupled with a diet lacking in nutrients, I began reading, researching and applying a safer, more natural and sustainable lifestyle. Now, on my one year reunion away-from-work, I am feeling well enough that I have gained the confidence to create a website where I hope to compile information to share with others. I don’t know what will come of it all, but I do know that I could not have considered this task 12 months ago.
Hmmmmmmmm… It makes me wonder what I will be doing next year at this time.
