According to Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, Director of Women and Heart Disease at Lenox Hill Hospital, “Treat your ticker to some cocoa: Its flavonoids are linked to a host of cardio perks, including lowering blood pressure, reducing "bad" LDL cholesterol, and decreasing your overall risk for heart disease.” So, how can you reap the benefits of cocoa—add a sprinkle of cocoa to your coffee, tea or breakfast drink; or maybe on your oatmeal—the suggestion is for 1 tablespoon per day.
When I heard about this one I did not believe it. If you take a whiff of cocoa, it will stave off your hunger and you can stop the mid-day candy runs to the vending machine. Hmm, maybe I’ll have to try this one to see if I believe it.
