Well, folks, we have a winner! …Or, rather, we’ve got two winners and several people we’d like to acknowledge.
Without further ado, the 1st prize of our 100-Day Fitness Challenge goes to Zach S.!!!
Here is what he accomplished in the last 100 days of 2008:
Couch to 5k didn’t really work too well. During the end of October the temperatures got frigid, which is really uncommon in Nashville. I’ll try again this summer if possible.
Hundred Pushups: still working on these with the new perfect pushups that I received for Christmas.
Lose 20 pounds: I actually got kinda close with this one, 12 pounds. Not a bad start at all.
Water: I have almost always drunken 10 cups every day, except for a few.
Keep a food log: I’ve done this every day since I signed up for the challenge.
Congratulations, Zach! You have done a phenomenal job in setting goals, and knocking them out, one-by-one! You will be receiving a $25 gift card for Dick’s Sporting Goods in your email in the next few days.
Our 2nd Place prize goes to Jenny T. (who just so happens to be Rebecca’s Mom)!!!
Here is what she accomplished during the challenge:
My goals were to “beef up” an already existing exercise program by swimming 2 days a week and taking a hike 1 day a week. What I “actually” did was to beef up my program by adding an hour of cardio and start a greatly-needed program of strength training. Something fun, that I probably never would have tried before was to do a 5K. I didn’t run it and I don’t really know if my knees will ever allow me to do so, but it felt so good to actually be in a race.. I would love to add more 5K’s to my next challenge.
Way to go, Mom! I was really impressed by your dedication to not just the challenge, but to your health and wellness. It was really fun to hear from you each step of the way, and share in your delight in each new muscle found, as well as finding strength that you didn’t know you had! I was also so proud to cheer you and Dad across the finish line of your first 5K, and look forward to doing that more in the coming months.
You will be receiving a $15 gift certificate for Athleta.com in your email in the next few days.
Now, we have a few people we would like to acknowledge. I know that life is busy for all of you. Although we didn’t actually hear back from a lot of you who had joined or indicated interest our challenge (ahem!), we have our ways of keeping up with what you’re up to, and would like to acknowledge your progress and encourage you to keep moving toward your goals.
You have been a source of encouragement to us in the last year, and we are proud of the steps you have taken toward health. 2008 was a year of phenomenal change for you, and I am so glad we have shared this journey together. It is inspiring to us that with all you have going on in your life, you still make the time to take care of your own needs and keep up your own fitness and health. We thank you for your encouragement and look forward to continuing on this journey together, side by side.
