Another day… another dollar. Right? It’s Monday. And it was a regular two day weekend. Those always seem SUPER short after having a three day weekend. However, I spied some questionable weather later in the week.. so I am keeping my fingers crossed.. and will likely be sleeping with spoons underneath my pillow on Wednesday and Thursday!
Considering I wasn’t feeling too hot physically on Monday and Tuesday.. I think I adjusted my workout schedule and workouts and had a great week of fitness!
Cardio: 5 days
Strength: 5 days
Rest: 1 day
After taking Tuesday off, my hip actually felt normal. I think I just need to lay off the running for a while.. which I definitely did this week! I didn’t set foot on the treadmill! It kinda sucked.. but I obviously want to avoid a serious injury.. and am willing to cut back on workouts if I start to feel any more pain. Right now I am pain free.. so I say carry on!
When winter hits in New England.. like it did on Saturday, there are times when I need to get a little creative with my workouts and get them in at home. Last year, I had no problem doing this on snow days, but I knew there would be a new little challenge this year that is black ad white… and covered with fur! I couldn’t be hopping around without having by jump all over me thinking it was a free for all.. but since this snow fall came on a weekend, I had some new options… (aka Justin the dog sitter).
Justin and Colby cozied up in the family room and watched the Rangers game while I played with the new toy I got for Christmas in the bedroom!
I actually read the stuff that came with my TRX and realized it comes with a door attachment.. so I will surely be using this plenty at home!!!
I hung it up on our closet door. I chose this door for many reasons.. but the main one was the it opened AWAY from where I was working out. Now.. the door wouldn’t accidentally open… causing me to fall FLAT on my face. (Justin WAS on standby listening for any loud thumps )There was also a perfect amount of space for me to work with!
I had a great workout that lasted about an hour. I basically did two different circuits.. one was TRX free and had a lot of plyometric movements with bursts of rapid cardio.. and the other circuit consisted 6 different exercises that used the TRX. I alternated circuits.. and did each three times. 60 minutes later, I was a sweaty mess.
Yeah. I am pretty badass.
It was nice to get a challenging workout in at home! I sometimes just go through the motions at home.. but the TRX didn’t allow me to do so! I had to work..and man.. I felt the BURN! Now I just need to figure out how to get this done when Justin isn’t home and it is just me a the Doodle.
Whenever I hear a Nelly song.. I get an instant burst of energy. Why? I cannot tell you! I think I may subconciously be thinking about HS basketball.. which just gets me all ready to go. So.. this weeks jam of the week is brought to you by Nelly!
I always get a kick out of watching these videos now that I am older. I specifically remember watching a TRL where Carson Daly was interviewing Nelly about some of the “grammar” used in Country Grammar…”Give me d’s with a rubber hammer..” But I don’t remember the video. Now I see that is just wasn’t worth remembering..

Do you have a favorite go-to at home indoor workout when weather doesn’t allow you to be outside or travel to the gym?
