As I predicted, this past weekend was pretty eventful (in a good way).
On Friday night, my in-laws came over for a dinner of roasted chicken, potatoes, salad, and wine…lots of wine.
We actually ate in our very under-utilized dining room, and I even pulled out the fine China!
We had a really nice time just sitting around talking and catching up by the Christmas tree and the fire.
(And my mother-in-law gave this candle to me which is basically Christmas in a jar. Love it!)
On Saturday, MT, Michael, and I enjoyed a nice, casual, family lunch at The Village Grill.
Unfortunately, my mouth was (and still is) a bit sore from my oral surgery, so the chewing process was kind of challenging.
That evening, we attended two holiday parties- which felt kind of strange being that it was 70 degrees outside!
The first one was an office party with a bunch of MT’s co-workers, so it wasn’t appropriate to take pictures. I probably wouldn’t have taken photos even if I could have done so because I was highly focused on my wine and plate of food.
I have my priorities straight.
I did take one photo of my sparkly party shoes though…
Everyone needs some sparkly party shoes.
The second party was at my mom and dad’s house and included a bunch of my father’s former co-workers. I was too busy socializing to take pictures there (excuses, excuses…), but let’s just say that one of my relatives may have dressed up as an elf.
After all of that excitement, the baby was pooped.
MT and I attempted to watch Elf when we got home, but we ended up falling asleep instead.
On Sunday morning, we went to IHOP for breakfast. Apparently, my husband has developed an IHOP dependency.
It’s fine by me though because I love going out for breakfast. Now if he’d only develop a J. Crew dependency, my weekends would be complete!
Your little one is getting bigger – ahhh! I have a great room and the dining table is right in the middle. I try and use the dining table at least once a week if not more. It is a great dumping ground at times too – ha! Great post – thanks for sharing – Have a Great One:)
Congratulations on your son, he is beautiful and I love the Santa sleeper. I have a question about drinking wine and breast feeding. How do you space your alcohol consumption, how often do you drink when breast feeding? I am expecting my 1st soon (38 weeks today!) and I miss my wine, but I am not sure how much to re-introduce, I plan on exclusively bf.
