We saw The Nutcracker on Saturday night and it brought back a lot of memories from my ballet years as a kid. The show was at the Opera House, built in the 1930s, and it was really beautiful: The inside was very elaborate especially considering that it was built during the Depression: Some more photos from the weekend: As far as the food goes, I had one intention for this trip and it was to only eat when I was hungry. Given all the walking around we did, that wasn’t much of a problem. Alan had the enchiladas with mole sauce: We splurged and shared the Pear Cobbler with Dulce de Leche ice cream: It’s all vegan and simply the best Mexican food there is. Too bad the owners are selling the restaurant, I really hope it survives . Was I perfect in meeting my intention? No, not perfect (remember this is a bad word in my mind). I still sometimes eat because I’m bored/need comfort/lonely/etc. Old habits die hard. Perhaps this will be my New Year’s Resolution? How are you surviving the holidays, do you have any tips to stay healthy? |

My husband has family in the Bay Area of California and we visit several times a year. This past weekend, we actually stayed in the city of San Francisco and had a great time. The holiday decorations were in full force:
