Wedding Flowers. In all honesty, they were a detail of the wedding that I wasn’t really too concerned with. Flowers are flowers. Even upon meeting with our floursit, Petal Perfection and Confections, I basically gave them a swatch of the bridesmaid dress fabric and said.. here you go. On the order form, everything said “purple to match” or white. And I was totally cool with that.
Of course I wanted the flowers to be beautiful, but I have no background knowledge on flowers and it wasn’t really and area that I felt like becoming familiar with. At on point, I googled “purple flowers” and “flowers that are in season in August” .. but I think I got distracted by pinterest or blogs in about .2 seconds.
One thing I didn’t want.. was a gigantic expense. I’d rather spend our budget elsewhere. I think we made out well (although I can’t know for sure!) For the 6bridal bouquets (including a larger MOH bouquet and my bouquet), we spent $250.
I could go through and tell you all the flowers.. but I wouldn’t know what to say. They are “Purple to match.”
But I do love the way they turned out and thing they popped perfectly against the purple dresses.
My bouquet was awesome. I absolutely loved it. I cried when it was delivered to the suite. While you can’t see them in the shot, somewhere, there is some flower (I am SO knowledgeable) with a deep purple inside.
And here.. we have my something old. My mother saved my baptismal bonnet for this purpose. She wanted me to be able to use it to wrap my flowers on my wedding day. So … that white thing.. is a bonnet. It was on my head in November 1985 when I was baptized. It was my something old. It gave (and gives me now) butterflies.
