So, yesterday the boy and I finally bit the bullet and put our workout hats on again.. It must have been over a week since I last worked out and even beforethere was hardly any consistency. But, I made a resolution, and want to stick with it. So a couple of hours after dinner we changed into workout gear, blasted some music (Isa did not approve), started scribbling down some notes for our workouts, and got started. I made a 15 minute simple set-up workout:
In the format of 40 seconds with 10 seconds rest between exercises, and 3 rounds = 15 minutes. The side lunges & jump up with a 5k dumbbell were killer and my quads are quite sore today. I want to take it slow so today no workout but a ew minutes of side crunches here and there to keep active.
Leg sweepers
This morning I woke up feeling a bit… iffy.. and with hardly any appetite at all. I opted for two rusks (beschuit) with jam and soy cheese and some grapes. When about an hour and a half later I got hungry (doh) I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give oats another go. I’m still trying to slowly ween myself on oats, haha. Darn Brinta!
I made a very small portion because big portions of oatmeal still make me sqeemish inside, this was around 25g of oats, soymilk, a dash of salt, agave and two slices banana for texture and sweetness (something I picked up in the blogosphere). But then, I got a pretty brilliant idea if I may say so: almond butter glaze! I simply mixed some almond butter with soymilk until a smooth glaze-like consistency, and drizzled it over my hot oats.
Ooey-gooey-goodness :)
Since I’ve gotten a lot of questions about all the different types of oats, I will do a post about this soon!
I used to make a lot of my own interval workouts, now only sometimes. I get exercise inspiration from bodyrock.tv, other workout dvds, and the tons of online resources (I love women’s fitness website!)
