Watering eyes are a frequent problem, especially in the elderly… and in infants 1 year and under. It can occur with one eye or both eyes.

Your eyes will produce tears to keep them moist and comfortable. The glands will produce the tears and spread them over the eyes. The surplus tears will then typically drain down the tear-ducts out your nose.
When something is out of kilter the tears will run down your face, and this can be the cause of worry.

What Can Be The Causes
If your eyes are irritated you will produce excess tears.
The most general reason for watering eyes is a blocked or narrowed tear duct. This could be due to inflammation. Another cause could be that one of your eyelids is turned out, causing a run off. Or, you could even have an ingrown eyelash.

A baby’s tear ducts could be closed at birth, they often open by themselves.
It is important that you go and see your eye doctor when any change in your eyes or vision occurs.

The remedy obviously depends on the cause. You may even find natural help, but only after you have been seen by a professional eye doctor.
