Water, water, water. Immune benefits in multiple ways.

I drink too much coffee during the day. I know that. Four or five cups, probably. I also like orange juice and grape juice at home. Tea, too. And once in a while, I just get that feeling that I need to gulp down a big glass or two of water, not juice, pop, or anything else. Water. I’m sure that’s my body telling me that the simple stuff is all it wants, forget the caffeine, calories, Splenda, etc.
Now, I’m reading about something called “ cold water therapy .” That means swimming in chilly water, or taking a very brief shower in cold water. Or, finishing a hot show with 30 or 40 seconds of cold water. Many claim that cold water therapy stimulates a brief “fight or flight” type immune response, helping keep immune function “in shape.” I know I do like to take lukewarm or cool showers in the summer. Hmmm. Any thoughts?
