I have been slowing writing this post for a few days now. It seems like every time I sit down to write, something else that “must” claim my attention comes up.
First things: I must recap last weeks workouts before I forget seeing as how it is already Wednesday.
Monday: Long Run Day
Tuesday: Mat Pilates and Running Speed Work
Wednesday: Bike Trainer
Thursday: Yoga and Tempo Run
Friday: A nice walk around the Med Center
Saturday: Long Run Day
Sunday: Bike Trainer and Push-up Challenge
I am very happy with the way my workouts went last week. If I wanted to be picky, I could also throw some sprinting and a mile walk with my niece Maggie in there.
This week, however, is already turning out to be a different story. Normally by today I would have already attended Yoga and Mat Pilates during work but that just hasn’t happened yet. I’m still crossing my fingers I can get in at least 2 Yoga/stretching workouts this week though. Yoga and Pilates have been the best thing ever for my hip and so I really hate missing out on those workouts. Don’t you just hate it when work/making a living gets in the way?
Also I want to do a little recap of Sunday as well.
My sweet niece Maggie spent the night with us for the first time ever this weekend. Every time I see her, I quickly realize that I don’t get to see her nearly enough. This girl has more energy stored up than the sun and she is as cute as a bug’s ear. ( I wasn’t sure if anyone else would have heard that saying before so I just typed it in Google. Looks like it might have started right here in the Lone Star State!)
She actually spent the night on Saturday night and so Sunday morning started out a little later than normal. Even though we are related she is no early riser like me. The cats and I managed to get the entire house up and moving by 8am though so I didn’t go too stir crazy. Apparently not all kids like oatmeal and eggs for breakfast either so I begged my sweet husband (who rarely eats breakfast) to go out to the store at 8:30am to get us some waffles. He also picked up some donuts and some fruit for me.
It didn’t take too long before Maggie was itching to do something so we made dippin’ dots to freeze for a snack later that afternoon. I should note though that these were nothing like real dippin’ dots. It was sort of like freezing watered down chocolate milk and made the entire kitchen smell.

Maggie liked them though so I guess it was all worth it.
We also went to the park on Sunday for over an hour and a half and walked her fake remote control dog. Even though this was a fake dog, we did have to stop no less than 20 times to let it go to the bathroom and of course this puppy also had to rest in the shade of every tree we passed. It look us almost an hour to walk the 1 mile circle because of that fake dog. Oh and guess who had to walk the dog…that’s right,me. (Maggie would only carry her puppy when she thought it was tired from walking.) I got some strange looks from passerby’s that for sure.
And when she got tired of walking the mile loop she asked me if I wanted to race. Um….YES! I love running. We sprinted short distances over and over until we reached the play ground. That little girl is fast! And she was carrying a fake dog no less.
We ended our day by driving her to church that evening and I think we did a pretty good job considering she slept the entire 45 minute drive there.
