With the beautiful weather in Southern California, we have very few excuses – other than the massive, expansive size of Los Angeles – to not walk, run or bike as much as we can to get to our destinations. As National Bike to Work Week closes out, I’m discovering more ways to integrate biking and eliminate the car (adding more lights, a basket, new helmet). I laugh when friends post pictures of their photos at the pump on , but the reality is the prices at the pump are hardship for many people and our gas consumption rate is not improving the environmental situation . Below are a few shots from the weekend that reminded me of the importance of using our feet to get where we’re going. With my “ tourists in town ” we’ve hiked, walked and biked as much as possible on our adventures of exploration. We were reminded last night of the importance of fighting for safe biking in our cities as the Critical Mass Los Angeles zoomed by our home around 10:30pm, lighting up the night and the streets of L.A.
It’s been a very busy weekend, with little time to write, but a much needed break from my computer . Many new photos were taken and topics of time management, green machines, social entrepreneurship, my first week of school and of course, playlists , are in the works for this next week. Want more?
