3/4 Cup of Kale, ribs and thick stems removed
1 small stalk celery, chopped
1/2 Cup apple juice
1/2 Cup Ice
1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
Although I followed the recipe as best as I could, I did stray from the recipe since I have different appliances and don't use ice cubes.
4 small apples, 1 large celery, 1 large carrot, 1 large banana, and three leaves of kale in the juicer, and another 2 cups in the blender.
I first made apple, carrot, celery juice in the juicer. This blend was very good, and I wasn't surprised. I love making fresh apple juice in the juicer.
After wards, I added the banana and kale to the blender and slowly poured the juice mixture to form a smoothie.
I was pleasantly surprised that this smoothie was actually pretty good. Once in a while I would get an itty bitty leaf, but overall I tasted a lot of apple and banana. Kale has a tendency to bring out the flavors of other things that are blended with it.
The big surprise was when I put a small drop on my fingertip and The Get Fit Baby actually liked it!!
