Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week. Alan and I returned from Pasadena on Wednesday afternoon, but not before having my LASIK consultation (I’m an ideal candidate, yay!) and having lunch again at the new location of Real Food Daily. On this visit, I had the chance to meet the owner, Ann Gentry. Not only is Ann a complete sweetheart and absolutely glowing from the inside out, but she is a brilliant businesswoman and chef. You can read her bio from her website here .
Here are some more photos from our 2nd visit for lunch. Alan had the El Bandido Rojo and I had the Yin Yang salad with the dressing on the side. Alan was a bad, bad boy and had the brownie bowl with coconut ice cream, of which I had two sinfully delicious bites (don’t miss my post from our lunch there on Tuesday here ):
If there was ever a reason to fully enjoy restaurant food, then eating at a 100% vegan place with high quality ingredients like Real Food Daily is the place to do so. I got some inspiration for dishes I can make at home, including the Asian-inspired salad with chopped cabbage and a peanut dressing. I don’t eat cabbage nearly enough and I could definitely re-create this one at home. As far as the burrito and the brownie bowl goes, sorry, Alan, but I’m not even going to touch those. The closest I can come to making that type of food in a healthy way would be my Curried Tempeh Tacos and Dr. Fuhrman’s Black Bean Brownies topped with my Peanut Butter Banana Soft Serve .
Congratulations, everyone, on another round of healthy, vegan recipes! If you want to participate in the next blog party, just add your link below.
Before I go, I want to wish my blogging buddy Amber from Almost Vegan a happy wedding day this weekend and many years of health and happiness. I had the chance to meet Amber and her fiance, Matt, last year at Vida Vegan Con , and they are a beautiful couple who have many more exciting adventures ahead of them.
I hope YOU have a beautiful and healthy weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday.
