So, as per usual, I had this blog post (well the video part anyway) ready to go two weeks ago but work got a bit crazy (working until midnight and weekends too) so it sat unattended. Until today.
A couple of weeks ago Pam had sent me a text message asking me how I use my Cuisinart stick blender (also called an immersion blender) to make mayo. I adore my stick blender! My awesome-sauce sister-in-law, Jenn, bought it for me about 5 or 6 years ago and it is easily the one piece of kitchen equipment (other than knives) that I use the most often. I use it for soups ( like my tomato soup ), sauces, purees, and making mayonnaise. It’s easy to clean up and since it is compact it is easy to store away as well.
Making your own mayo with a stick blender is by far the easiest thing in the world and I honestly wouldn’t be making my own mayo if it weren’t because of it. I remember when the immersion blenders first came on the market–it was on one of those shows like Amazing Discoveries (it’s OK to admit that you watched that–it was a Sunday morning staple at our house after church). I remember that they made mayo using it so I thought I’d give it a shot. You can mess it up if you go too fast, so I thought I’d do a quick vlog on how I make mine, and how I also transition it to a ranch-style dip for my carrot and celery sticks. Hope you enjoy it and start to make your own mayo as well!
