Back in September, I posted a list of non-toxic beauty brands for you to try. Since then, I’ve discovered lots of new companies that make amazing products, so I updated the list.
I guess that means I’ve also done a lot of shopping.
This new (and improved) list includes a column with ratings from the EWG Cosmetics database. You’ll notice that most of the brand’s ratings have a range which means that some of the products are non-toxic- but not necessarily all of the products. Before purchasing a product from any of these lines, I highly suggest that you look up the specific name in the database to make sure that it falls in the safer end of the range.
Have you tried any of these brands? Do you have any to add? I plan to keep this list as updated as possible, so feel free to suggest some other brands.
I meant to tell you that I went to EarthFare over the weekend and stocked up on new shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, face wash, and mascara. I’ve been using non-toxic shampoo/conditioner, lotion, make-up, and hand soap for a while, but hadn’t tried a few of the other products so I’m slowly trying to switch everything over! It’s because of you I thought to do this- thanks for sharing your knowledge
I can’t get my hands on most of these products, I guess – but I might have a new brand for you you could possibly check out?
I stumbled over this (really beautiful) blog last week or so – it’s called “Grace and Ivy” and she makes her own beauty products and (afaik) sells them on etsy and stuff …
Thanks so much for posting this list – I’ve been wanting for ages to start trying to phase out toxic products, but its so hard! It seems like everything has something nasty in it. Like a comment above, I’ve also tried Burt’s Bees and they are great!
Hi there!
