Uniforms, Life Unexpected, Trail Run at Maudslay State Park

Since I have a bit of time on my hands before my new job training begins I thought I would make the morning productive and organize this bad boy.
Just in case you didn’t already know, organizing my clothes has got to be #1 on my list of least favorite chores much to Nick’s disappointment. Therefore, I made sure to send him a phone pic of the finished product to brighten his lunch hour!
Part of the reason I’ve never much cared to organize my clothes is that I was required to wear uniforms for so many of my previous jobs. In fact I’ve kept most of the outfits as mementos of sorts: Chef whites and black kitchen clogs; black cross trainers and entirely too many pairs of yoga pants; and yes, even some white scrub pants and hospital clogs. As much as uniform dress codes made my morning routine super easy, it will be refreshing to finally dress up a bit for work!
While folding and sorting my clothes I finished watching the last episode of Life Unexpected another short lived (2 season) show that I happened upon while browsing Netflix.
The series starts with the reunion of a 16 year-old foster child and her parents who gave her up for adoption when they were still in high school. The plot follows the characters as they attempt to become a family after so many years apart. I totally fell in love with the actors and the story and almost shed a tear when I found out that the show was cancelled after that last episode. Nick thinks it’s funny that I got so into the show but for some reason it was just one of those shows/books/movies that tugged at my heart strings!
I’m trying to make sure to do some fun outdoor activities that I won’t have as much time for when I start my job so this afternoon I took Mo trail running in Maudslay State Park.
Clearly I need to amend my previous statement that Mo’s favorite activity is running because he apparently likes nothing better than TRAIL running. I had planned on running five miles ended up running seven because Mo just kept galloping and galloping along the trails. We had a great time and were even able to cheer the Lady Clippers (Newburyport High School cross country team) on to victory in their race.
I got a few butterflies in my tummy remembering how nervous I used to get before my high school cross country races. Thankfully, I enjoy events much much more now because they are just for my and I don’t have a team depending on my performance!
I would love to hear from you…
Is there a TV series that pulls at your heart strings?
Did you/do you get nervous before athletic events?
