I will post a recap of our adventures in Kansas City tomorrow ... when I went to blog last night a more pressing matter took my attention.
We were supposed to leave KC today to head to Tucumcari, New Mexico en route to Phoenix, AZ for Christmas. WELL ... that horrible storm hitting New Mexico? Ya it was supposed to dump 10-16 INCHES of snow on Tucumcari. So last night we were canceling our hotel and figuring out an alternate route.
We ended up driving through Kansas - end to end. Let me tell you ... Kansas is NOT a pretty drive. There is nothing to see. The weather started turning as we crossed over into Colorado. There were a few rough moments where the road got slick and visibility was decreased but we made it to our resting point for the night ... Colorado Springs! We are lucky enough to have some of our best friends stationed here at Fort Carson so we are crashing at Amanda and Brian's. :)
The downer? The I-25S which is the route we need to take tomorrow is currently closed. We are waiting to see how the weather is through the night and if the snow plows get to work in the morning. Cross your fingers for us ... not sure what we will do if it is still closed.
How was Emmie during our 9.5 hour drive today? She slept the WHOLE way. And she is currently out like a light at 9PM. I have such an awesome baby :)
Trigger also chilled in his own seat-belt. :)
Fingers crossed we will be in Arizona tomorrow night! No more snow for us. Haha.
