I have recently discovered that you can look cute while running.
Well while running may not be true, but you can look cute before running and after running. I still have not mastered the DURING running thing. I can surely tell you all of my during race photos are something out of Jurassic Park. Seriously scary! Every time I see one I just want to cry and stop running and start binge eating. For real. I am serious.
But I have been doing some intensive research on how to look cute while running. I have scoured Skinny Runners blog quite a bit and tried to match her runners style. No doubt it helps if you are super tan and thin and have blond hair but…….I try anyway
What I have found for me personally is running shorts may be cute in theory but I won’t wear them if I want to look cute. Functional yes. Cute no. Again they could look cute before you run but not so much during the run. At least for me!
So on to Skinny Runner and her skirts. She is on to something here……
This one is from my Mom in Laws new business called 10-us. Let’s keep in mind she made this skirt for tennis but I encouraged her to branch out and think about it as a running skirt. So she gave me one to try out for running.
Love the bling of course!
Love that it is a perfect, flirty length and an A line cut.
Like how it does not give you a muffin top.
Like the soft fabric.
What I don’t like is that when I run, the under shorts which are like bike shorts ride up and that there is no pockets for gels etc. But let’s keep in mind she made this for playing tennis.
Now as most of you know I love me some Lulu gear. I have even converted Bill so he would understand why I HAD to spend 80 dollars on a pair of tights and 120 dollars on a jacket. Now he knows.
This skirt is cute because it has pockets in the front.
Love the no muffin top band.
HATE the under shorts. Again they are like bike shorts but they don’t ride up because they have some stay put tape but they create a very unflattering sausage leg effect. I am in constant fear that I will show some of this sausage while my flirty skirt is flopping in the wind.
Good for your various runs throughout the week but nothing too special and not super feminine. Also the fabric is kinda heavy which I do not care for.
And now on to the skirt I like the best-shirt number 3.
I finally broke down and bought it from Running Skirts . I was a bit nervous because I have not tried any of their products.
So glad I did!
Why I love this skirt the most and need about 5 more
Very liight weight material.
A bit longer skirt so even when you are running it won’t show too much.
A brief under the skirt instead of bike shorts. This in itself is heaven on earth to me. No ride up and no sausage effect.
Two pockets on each side of your hips for gels etc..
And super comfy and even good for fat days (no pinching or binding anywhere).
Great for long or short runs. In fact, it makes you want to get out and run.
So there you have it!
What do you think? Do you have a skirt you would like to share?
