Two Down, Ten To Go!

Hello! Welcome to March 1st. While it is still technically winter, we are definitely having spring-like weather here in Knoxville. Monster storms yesterday and a gorgeous sunny day today.

Since it is a new month, I thought I would revisit my goals/todos/resolutions for 2012 and update them. I will be doing this each month and hopefully by the end of the year I will have completed everything.

First off, I just took 48 hours off activity and 24 hours off blogging. I needed a break and took it. I am definitely re-energized now! It is always a good idea to listen to your body.

I have a fantastic workout to look forward to tonight – Barre3. Read my review of my first Barre3 class here . I really enjoy Barre3 and have been taking as many of their free classes as possible.

Also on the horizon – the KTC ‘s Knox Walks program starts this Saturday. Very excited they have launched their walking program and hope it is successful.

Goals, ToDos, Resolutions. Whatever you want to call them. Here are mine for 2012 along with updates. Some household, some personal, some professional. Some very specific, some general.

1 – Reduce spending by using up items we have before buying others.

*** February was better than January on this. And for Lent, I have given up cosmetics and Bath & Body purchases. I have way more lip gloss/eye shadow/body lotion than I will ever use.

2 – Donate old/unwanted clothes/household items to KARM or Goodwill.

*** I have not started this yet.

3 – Complete a race longer than a 5K.

*** As I mentioned last month, this one is tricky. I did the Wanderer’s Trail Race in January. Hubby’s GPS showed 3.95 miles, mine only showed 3.65 miles. It appears I might have gotten lost during the race – completely possible by the way. While that technically is longer than a 5K (3.1 miles), I would like to do a 4 or 5 mile race this year.

4 – Save 10-15% of each paycheck. Now that I am back working full-time in a fairly stable job, time to start the savings again.

*** I am on track with this putting money back from each paycheck. It is the FIRST thing I do when I get paid.

5 – Try CrossFit and Spinning (at least once each).

*** Still no to both of these, but I have a plan (I think). I am considering doing the 5 week Crossfit bootcamp once my personal training time is up (June I think). Spinning is still unknown since we don’t have any spinning specific clubs.

6 – Become Google AdWords certified. Professional goal to help with my job.

*** Still have the go ahead to do this, but we have gotten crazy busy and this is definitely on the back burner for now. Still hope to make this happen during the first half of 2012.

7 – Learn to cook one meal per season. As you know, I am not a cook. I would like to learn to cook one complete meal (edible and healthy) each season.

*** I STILL haven’t started this yet. Big surprise. I do make a mean salad and a delicious smoothie. I can also cook eggs – scrambled, over easy, in a basket.

8 – Walk/Bike/Elliptical at least 500 miles. Last year I completed 450+, so I am adding 10% to that number.

*** February 2011 I logged 3 miles, February 2012 I logged 13 miles. Again, this is more than 10% over the previous year. I am definitely on track to make this happen. March 2011 I didn’t log any miles (for some reason), so I will definitely be ahead this year.

9 – Utilize craft room (make handmade cards, gifts, etc).

*** Ummm….this hasn’t happened yet. But the craft room does look pretty and clean.

10 – Blog at least 5 times per week.

*** I actually blogged 49 times during February, so on track to make this happen.

11 – At least 1 – 5 day vacation and 2 weekend getaways.

*** Still hoping to get one of these scheduled soon. I am taking a day off in March for some mother/daughter shopping time.

12 – Continue all goals to become healthy and get to feel great weight. These include logging what I eat on a regular basis, following my online personal trainer’s plans, and more.

*** Still following Tina ‘s, my trainer, plans and have joined her bootcamp which starts Monday. Still struggling with the food but I am determined that things change NOW.
