Tweek Week Day 1

Tweek Week isn’t terrible! A day and a half in, totally doable

  1. Whole Grains
  2. More Water
  3. Egg quiches instead of oatmeal
  4. Try a new veggie recipe, roasted Brussel Sprouts?
  5. Cut back the sugars
  6. Hydrate properly during hard workouts. Sometimes water isn’t enough
  7. Vitamins
  8. Take 10 minutes to meditate (outside of yoga)
  9. Hit those weights more!
  10. Stop watching Weight-Loss Reality TV….

I stayed hydrated with water all day long. I did about 2.5 hours of TKD last night. It felt amazing. I felt focused, powerful and ready to learn. I hydrated with low calorie gatorade, I’m not sure if it’s in my head, or if it really worked, but I was fully alert and not sluggish! I hit the grocery store right after around 11:00pm, picked up some whole grains (rice, quinoa). Didn’t get home till almost midnight. I was still high from my endorphin rush, so I cooked the quiches. Ground turkey, tomatoes, onions, garlic, half eggs of egg beaters, low fat mozz. Seriously delicious!

All of a sudden, it was 2am!!? And I have a 5:30am alarm….rut roh…

Instead of a cup of coffee to start my day, I grabbed a coconut water. Instead of my 2-3…ok, sometimes 4 cups anywhere from 8am-2pm… I stuck to one cup. And a ton of water. I already felt more alert! Had some whole grain rice with homemade chicken stir fry. I made sure I didn’t pack anything with sugar. No lite yogurt or granola bars today! Just hummus, veggies and a banana! Felt good! No real cravings.

No reality TV shows so far. That’s my only real craving. :)

So I didn’t get to tackle vitamins or weights, but my work out was pretty intense, and I wasn’t about to lift weights at 2am.

It’s almost 10pm now, and since I’m running on less than 3 hours of sleep… I’m just gonna go hit the hay and get ready for a top notch performance day tomorrow.
